Bancon Construction and Deeside Timberframe, divisions of the Bancon Group, have secured over £ 11 million of work in the last quarter.

These awards will give continuity of work to our current workforce of around 250, however, the structure of the Bancon Group means we have significant capacity to take further work on board with immediate effect.

Contracts awarded to Crathes based Bancon Construction include a £ 2.25 million contract at Montrose to construct a grain store development for Angus Cereals; boiler installation at Duthie Park for Aberdeen City Council valued at £ 627,000; and a £ 1.66 million contract to build a new Energy Centre at Hill of Banchory for the North Banchory Company. Residential developments at Stoneywood Terrace, Dyce, and Thistle Lane, Aberdeen for sister company, Bancon Homes valued at £ 2.60 million and £ 790,000 respectively

Deeside Timberframe, with its head office in Stonehaven, have been successful in securing over £3.3 million of work stretching from Shetland in the north to Southampton in the south. Contracts include the supply and erect of timber-kits for social housing at Donside Paper Mills, Aberdeen and a housing development at Kintore. The combined value of these alone exceeded £2 million. The additional workload also meant Deeside Timberframe re-opened their manufacturing unit in Stirling last year to service the demands for timber kits in the Central Belt area and further south into England.

Bancon Group Chief Executive, Bill Beattie said “the Construction Industry has been through a torrid time over the last 12 months and it also faces considerable challenges in the 12 months ahead and therefore we are delighted with the successful start that Bancon Construction and Deeside Timberframe have made to 2011.

The Bancon Group of Companies are engaged in General Building Contracting, Design and Build, Housing and Property Developments, Timber Frame Design & Manufacture and Specialist Works & Property Maintenance.
