Environmental Policy

At Deeside Timberframe we provide high quality engineered timberframe structure for housing and commercial projects. Timberframes are made from a renewable resource and timber housing design offers environmental benefits over other types of housing structure due to its high thermal performance. We therefore believe we have a role to play in positively supporting a more sustainable construction.

However, as supplier of timber products, we recognise our responsibility to ensure our timber is obtained from sustainable sources. We also recognise that our own activities have an environmental impact and are committed to reducing that impact to as low as is reasonably practical.

    We are therefore committed to:

    * having in place an environmental management framework to manage the impact of our operations.
    * Setting annual objectives and targets on an annual basis to drive continual improvement in our environmental performance.
    * complying with all legal and any other requirements to which we must subscribe relating to the management of our environmental performance.

Through our management framework, we will actively seek to:

    * promote sustainable supply chain management of our timber products by implementing and maintaining Chain of Custody requirements in accordance with the PEFC Standard.
    * raise awareness of environmental issues with our customers, suppliers and staff.
    * minimise the use of resources in our operations.
    * minimise waste and manage any waste arising effectively.

We actively support the United Kingdom Timberframe Association Code of Practice, which aims to promote environmental and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
